Hello, my name is Michelle Haptonstall.
I came to Grand River in 2018 and have loved every minute of it. Grand River is a unique experience to anywhere else in School District #51. We have the brilliant blend of students, the best scenario for learning, and the outcomes are exciting and rewarding to watch and be a part of.
I have been in the District for over 25 years, and have prospered from working in many varied environments from Teaching, traditional and Special Education, and Counseling in traditional Middle School and Alternative High School. Each brought with it a diverse population and the best learning and unique opportunities to benefit not only myself, but the students, staff, and families I have been able to work with and for.
I love my career, and the opportunity it brings me every day to interact with awesome students that are still on the learning curve to figuring their lives out, and amazing families that come in with great expectations for their child/themselves and the overall school experience.

Hi learners & families!
I am Randi Overturf, and I am so excited to be transitioning in Grand River Academy from teaching to supporting our Online & Gateway families as a school counselor. With six years of experience at Grand River Academy, I've fostered a deep understanding of our blended and online programs and the value they add to D51. I love getting to know our learners and watch them grow all the way through graduation. Every student's journey is unique, and I'm committed to providing personalized support every step of the way.
