SAT & Khan Academy

All Colorado juniors will take the SAT college-entrance test in March 11th for Grand River Academy (the SAT is replacing the ACT test that has been given in years past).  The SAT is accepted by colleges and universities across the nation.  Juniors took the PSAT (pre-SAT) test last April as part of the State testing program.

Khan Academy is SAT’s primary provider of SAT prep.  Khan Academy provides FREE SAT prep that includes:

  • An SAT practice plan tailored to meet each student’s needs.  Students can import their PSAT scores, and their practice plan will be based on their PSAT test.
  • Khan incorporates a variety of interfaces-video lessons, thousands of practice lessons and a feedback system
  • Study recommendations and test-taking tips are included
  • Students can also take 6 full-length practice tests

It is super easy to connect to Khan and start practicing!
If you have not already created your College Board (the folks who make the PSAT and SAT tests) account, do so through www.collegeboard.org

  • Create your account
  • When prompted, agree to link your Khan Academy account with your College Board account (you do not have to do this, but it is recommended so you can get a personalized practice plan!)
  • Log into your College Board account and hit “Send” to send your test results to Khan
  • Practice, practice, practice!
